Seeing Spots

This past weekend my boyfriend's sister got married in North Carolina. We drove the cakes down with us and actually survived the trip. She had a "candy bar" at the reception and wanted a cake to match, plus a Bob Marley groom's cake. I made all the candy buttons by hand and stuck them on individually. The groom's cake design was printed on my sugar printer.

Weekend at Tiffany's - sort of

There were two seperate Sweet 16's this weekend with Tiffany blue as a theme!

First one was a little wild with leopard spots hand painted and 75 Tiffany blue cupcakes to match:

I also had a 1st birthday with a special Phillies cupcake for the older brother with a birthday around the same time. The cupcakes were made to match the colors and theme of the paper goods the parents ordered and were three flavors: Oreo cake with a special Oreo creme icing, vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and red velvet with a cream cheese icing:

Fashion and a trip to Paris (at least as far as cupcakes go)

I was asked to make a cake that incorporated pink flowers and zebra strips and eluded to the stylings of Betsy Johnson. I think it was as success, how about you? Everything is edible and hand sculpted. I think Betsy would be proud?

I also got to make character cupcakes for a book (comic and cartoon as well) that I had never heard of, Barbapapa. It is a popular series outside of the US and I was happy to try something completely foreign to me. The client was pleased and that is was counts.

The Muppet cake is by far my favorite cake to date. The invitations had circus themed Muppets so I made the cake to match.

50th Birthday - modeling chocolate flowers

My first attempt at using modeling chocolate turned out great! these flowers are beautiful (and delicious). Order also included mini cupcakes (vanilla vanilla, vanilla chocolate and carrot cream cheese).
